Are you ready to tackle Weight Loss-The Never Having To Say Sorry Program-Part 2?
Are you ready to get healthy and learn how to lose the weight you want? Here we go…
If you follow the suggestions and instructions from this plan, you will learn to eat the right foods and keep the weight off as long as you want to, safely.
Step One: Besides preparing your mindset for the weight loss challenges ahead, you should also take steps to prepare your body, so that it knows how to react and take care of you.
➡ While In the past you may have gorged on junk and fast food the night before your diet begins – a final goodbye to all the foods you love – that’s the worst thing you can do to your body and your goals of losing weight
➡ Gorging on high-calorie, high-fat food just before you start a diet will confuse your body and how it processes your future diet with healthier foods.
➡ Your metabolism, your digestive tract and the signals your brain sends about being full will all be affected by the sudden change in your diet.
➡ If you’re medically obese and have many pounds to lose, it’s important that you engage in some activities that promote your health and the ability of your body to accept the new changes in eating habits.
Here are the classifications from the CDC (Centers For Disease Control), the authority on statistics. It’s an example of a person who is 5’9″.
|5′ 9″||124 lbs or less||Below 18.5||Underweight|
|125 lbs to 168 lbs||18.5 to 24.9||Healthy weight|
|169 lbs to 202 lbs||25.0 to 29.9||Overweight|
|203 lbs or more||30 or higher||Obese|
|271 lbs or more||40 or higher||Class 3 Obese|
One mistake that most dieters make is to wake up one day and cut down to radically fewer calories than their bodies are used to, that causes the body go into A “Starvation Mode” that actually makes it retain fat.
➡ Your body was made to store fat if it thinks it’s going to starve.
➡ It will do everything it can to put more fat on, to protect you from the little amount of food you’re consuming.
It’s also the right time to assess your good and bad habits when it comes to eating and exercising. (I know…groan!)
➡ But keep in mind that eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to give up every food you like – but it does mean that you’ll need to be more mindful of what you’re eating and the portion size. Our poor food habits are hard to break.
It’s too easy to let other things get in the way of making the effort, and those foods are often a source of comfort to us.
➡ Besides, when we’re faced with those “comfort foods” we tend to dismiss their danger by telling ourselves that it’s too much trouble to eat healthily.
The best way to succeed at weight loss is to prepare your body ahead of time by eating healthy foods and getting on a schedule of eating that won’t end up blowing your future diet. This is why this learning tool we call Weight Loss-The Never Having To Say Sorry Program is going to help you make it happen.
Important: I do not (nor do reputable doctors) recommend “Cleansing” products. Most are way too harsh for your body systems and do nothing at all for the brain, which is where cravings come from when it thinks you’re starving it.
Fasting is sometimes used to clear your body of toxins and prepare it for the good food on your diet plan. Nutrients and vitamins can be absorbed much faster and more complete when the toxins have been cleared from the body.
However, if you have any type of heart disease, even a mild one such as an occasional irregular heart rhythm, fasting will hurt you and make the situation worse…so beware. Learn more about this here:
One thing to be aware of that could derail your weight loss plan is skipping meals.
➡ This is a bad habit that will work against your healthy weight loss efforts. I recommend you break that habit before beginning your diet.
➡ Skipping meals actually lowers your metabolism and makes you keep weight instead of losing it.
While some feel that losing weight requires sacrifice, moderation in all things is the way to change unwanted behavior when you’re attempting any kind of change.
➡ Start slow…Try doing without that dessert or buttered popcorn some of the time before you begin your healthy eating journey. It will make it easier on your mental health and your body if you ease into weight loss instead of rushing it.
Step 2: Get a Diet and Exercise Buddy
To get the full lifetime benefits of the Weight Loss-The Never Having To Say Sorry Program-you may put a ton of effort into finding the right nutrition and exercise program and expect it to work just as you planned. But, you’re missing one of the key elements in successful weight loss – accountability.
We can make all sorts of excuses to ourselves about why we need that dessert or why we have to miss exercise. But…It’s much more difficult when we have a diet and exercise buddy to whom we’re accountable.
➡ He or she can (and often is) the one cause that turns us around and makes us get back on track. And, your buddy is accountable to you for their success – or failure. Support is critical for most people to succeed.
➡ Lack of willpower or weak moments that threaten to make you go back to your old eating and exercise habits can be eradicated – or, at the very least, become less of a problem – if you have a buddy you’re answering to.
➡ A buddy should praise you when you succeed and motivate you when you falter. It’s also easier to relate to someone who is also trying to lose weight and get healthy, just like you.
➡ If you don’t already have a friend who would be a good choice, you can always choose someone on an online support group. Through email and texting, you can both keep in touch and offer the support needed to overcome obstacles and reach your shared goals.
➡ Your buddy becomes the partner who shares your goals. Together, you lead each other to the success you both want. Weight loss experts state that having a weight loss buddy can make the difference between failure and success.
Choosing the right buddy for you isn’t always as easy as pairing up with a best friend. Even though that friend may have qualities and virtues you appreciate, he or she may not be the one to help you through the obstacles you’ll face.
In fact, it might turn out to be just the opposite if you’re used to overindulging when you’re together!
➡ The bottom line is that choosing the right diet and exercise partner is as important and personal as choosing the right weight loss plan.
